500,000 to see Northern Ireland gardens on Dutch TV

 Over 500,000 Dutch TV viewers will be tuning in to see a special programme about gardens in Northern Ireland later this year. A crew from a popular gardening programme, called Robs Grote Tuinverbouwing (meaning ‘Rob’s Big Garden Design’), which airs on national Dutch TV station SBS 6, spent four days (in glorious sunshine!) filming various well-known gardens around Northern Ireland.

Invited here by Tourism Ireland and following an itinerary devised by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, the TV crew filmed at Benvarden Garden near Dervock in Co Antrim, the walled garden at Glenarm Castle, the organic Kilcoan Garden at Larne, Ballyrobert Cottage Garden near Ballyclare, the Rose Gardens at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park in Belfast and at Greyabbey House and Gardens on the shores of Strangford Lough.
