Travel Alert: New Zealand earthquake of magnitude 6.2 leaves tourists in frenzy

Tuesday, July 03, 2012 - Tourists were left in a state of despair when a strong earthquake of magnitude 6.2 rattled the capital city of Wellington on Tuesday. The reports were confirmed by the US Geological Survey who revealed that the quake hit at a depth of 236 kilometres (146 miles) at 1036 GMT around 173 kilometres northwest of the city.
